More instant street sculpture generated by an abandoned sofa, the unique composition of planes, angles, highlights and shadows, tones and colours, arbitrary and yet suggestive of a certain careless energy.
It is a challenge to leave an abandoned sofa successfully. They are typically large, bulky, irrepressible, difficult to constrain or reduce. You can’t hide a dead sofa or disguise it. So typically they are left casually, randomly, set at oblique angles or tipped over, almost as if in this disrupted state we might overlook what they are, become confused by what is old and familiar made new. Rather like art.
